PROJECT:
De Syloia Hotel
SCOPE:
Branding / Art Direction / Brand Identity / Visual System / Brand Guidelines
Nestled in the beating heart of Hanoi Old Quarter, Vietnam is the De Syloia Hotel, a colonial-style architecture with a French-influence interior. The hotel exudes an old-world charm while providing luxurious modernity. While visitors will be awestruck by the visual elegance, the hotel promises a customer service experience that they will carry for years to come.
Our objective was to alter the public’s perspective of the De Syloia Hotel. The building underwent a major renovation, and it seem prudent to update the hotel with a sleek new brand system.
We took the hotel’s monogram and redesigned it, giving it hints of the tropical nature of Hanoi’s past. For the wordmark, we applied a timeless yet updated customized hand-lettering. The luggage trolley is a symbol to denote the hotel’s stellar customer service.
Many of Hanoi's old-world boutique hotels tend to look alike—multi-storied, symmetrical structures with steep roofing—the De Syloia Hotel needed an identity to distinguish above the rest.
The De Syloia Hotel is a home away from home, a traipse into Hanoi’s past, while the convenience of stepping back into the present is afforded in the city’s street—markets, night life, people.
